A Local Delight

The fully licensed and disabled accessible Café at Chale Green Stores is open daily from 9am to 5pm.  Breakfast served 9 to 11am.  Lunch served noon to 3pm.  Coffees, teas cakes, etc, served all day.  Free WiFi for customer use.

 

Our intimate Café, a hidden gem at the back of our store, offers an amazing array of fresh food to suit all tastes.

From light refreshments to a full meal, The Café at Chale Green Stores is the perfect place in which to relax and admire the surrounding countryside. To complement our freshly prepared fare, we are fully licensed and offer a selection of hot and cold beverages.  Our outside patio and garden are the perfect setting for enjoying warm days with a glass of wine or a Chale Deli Platter.

Starters for two to share

· Olive Selection mixed marinated olives from the deli

· Dipping Bread and Selection of Olive Oils with a speciality vinegar for dipping

· Deli-cacies: Yellowbells, sweet peppers and olives

 

Deli Platters available for one or two to share served with freshly baked bread, chutney and a salad garnish

· Pate Platter selection of two from the Deli served with a toasted brioche

· Charcuterie Platter a selection of ham and cured meats

· Cheese Platter: a Ploughman's of 3 cheeses served with a fruit confit

· Signature Chale Deli Platter the best from the above: pate, meat and cheese

· Mediterranean "Mezze": Hummus, tabbouleh, olives and feta cheese, with warm pitta bread

Light Meals, Sandwiches and Salads

Homemade Soup (see blackboard) served with freshly baked crusty bread

Add a mixed green leaf salad with house vinaigrette

 

Sandwiches made to order on a baguette, seeded brown or white bread

served with a salad garnish and Tyrrell's famous crisps

· Smoked salmon - Salar Scottish hot-smoked salmon with cream cheese

Homemade Quiche served with roasted new potatoes and side salad (see blackboard)

Croque Monsieur: a French café classic of ham and melted cheese with a béchamel sauce in a grilled sandwich, served with a salad garnish

Chale Green Gourmet Burger handmade beef burger on a bun with cheese, tomato, red onion, mayo and salad leaves, served with a side salad and onion rings (add bacon for a small extra charge)

A salad of Warmed Goat's Cheese set on a garlic bruschetta, with roast vine tomatoes, pine nuts and mixed leaves with a balsamic reduction

Grilled Chicken Breast (free range) and Avocado salad on Little Gem lettuce with Parmesan shavings and a Caesar style dressing

House red, rosé or white 125 ml or 175 ml or 75c1 bottle

We also carry a selection of small bottles to share. Or treat yourself to one of over 100 wine labels in the shop. Any wine not finished may be re-sealed and taken off the premises. Small corkage fee charity donation suggested.

In the cooler you will find a wide range of soft drinks, ciders and lagers. Or choose one of our freshly made coffees or teas
